Sometimes, you have to lose yourself completely to find something truly elemental. For Spring 2027, Stefano Gallici sought refuge in the unforgiving quiet of the California desert, a solo retreat where life shrinks down to its rawest essentials. The result is “Lonesome Heaven,” a haunting, dark-romantic exploration bridging historical tailoring with the faded, ghostlike glamour of old Hollywood.
Viewing Los Angeles through a darker lens, as the lingering spirit of a city worn to death, Gallici channels this mood into a strictly monochrome palette of stark white, ecru, and deep black. Curated exclusively as L’ABBEYE’s editorial highlights, these key looks capture the true essence of the runway: exposed linings, sheer Chantilly lace, distressed tulle, and cascading organza ruffles juxtaposed with heavy buckle sandals, Victorian waistcoats, and sharp officer jackets.
Closing the show in a sweeping Edwardian dress of intricate black Chantilly lace, artist Ethel Cain perfectly embodies the spirit of the collection, set against the haunting dark folk soundtrack of Chelsea Wolfe. Marking his fourth season by claiming a new sense of freedom, Gallici gently bends the house codes without ever losing its soul. Lonesome Heaven isn’t just a seasonal collection; it’s a poetic meditation on time, decay, and uncompromised romance.
