No one remembers when she arrived.
Some say she wandered out of a forgotten circus after the audience disappeared. Others believe she was never meant to entertain anyone, only to wait. She moves through empty fields, abandoned gardens, and silent forests as though searching for a place she once knew but can no longer recognize.
The crows follow without being called. They do not threaten her, nor do they protect her. They are simply witnesses, carrying the memory of things that everyone else has chosen to forget.
She dances when no music is playing. She sits still until the landscape begins to move around her. Distance makes her smaller, but never absent. Even when she almost disappears into the horizon, she remains the center of every place she crosses.
Circus Girl is not about fantasy. It is about solitude disguised as performance, about the strange beauty of becoming a character so completely that there is no longer a way back to the person beneath the costume.
Perhaps the show ended long ago. She is the only one who never left the stage.
